Introduction

Week 15 focuses on the role that motivation plays in student learning. Three theories of motivation are introduced, including self-efficacy theory and self-determination theory. Students also consider the differences between intrinsic vs. extrinsic motivation. To consolidate their learning, students analyze a case study in which they consider the factors that would help a student improve their motivation to learn.
