Introduction

Week 7 problematizes the legacy of Egerton Ryerson in light of his support of residential schooling for Indigenous children. The reconsideration of Ryerson's contributions to Ontario education is used to highlight the role that changing values play in the interpretation and reinterpretation of history. As the applied task for this week, students complete a close reading of three articles related to the history of Ontario education and prepare an extended forum contribution.

Foundational Focus: History of Education
📌 As this is an applied week, most of your work will focus on completing the major task for the week. The major task is introduced following a short content presentation.
